Potted plants… loved by… well some of the world’s population anyway. Everybody seems to have them, as soon as you move to somewhere with a garden then people feel a desire to put plants in pots out there.
Have potted plants if you live in a flat, put them in the ground if you have a garden! And stop asking me to shift really heavy pots around so you can ’see what they look like’ – funnily that 2 foot wide pot full of soil is pretty heavy and my enthusiasm even if it wasn’t heavy would be less than zero, so can we just hurry this up so I can watch some telly?
So my gripe for today is people who buy heavy pots, fill them full of soil and a plant, then insist not only on moving them round, but not moving them themselves!! You bought the pot, you want it, you move it! I couldn’t give a monkey’s where it goes, or what it looks like, the poor plant should be in the ground anyway, not stuck in some pot with no room to stretch its little roots.
In fact why do people often have more pots than they do real plants? Or they insist on replacing the grass and flowerbeds with a patio and chippings, then put pots all over that…?
I think plant pots should be banned, by order of me, and if anyone else asks me to move even one more damn pot I’m going to ‘accidentally’ drop them every time until every last one is splattered over the patio and chippings, in fact I wonder if I could pay some kids to come round and play football in my garden…
